Welcome to Wildflower Meadows

A nurturing alternative provision in West Berkshire for children aged 6 to 16.

At Wildflower Meadows, we offer a calm, nature-based setting for children who need something different. Some join us because they feel overwhelmed or disengaged in traditional settings. Others come because they flourish in hands-on, child-led environments. Whatever the reason, all are welcomed with care, curiosity, and respect.

We support children who struggle with anxiety, trauma, sensory processing differences, and emotional-based school avoidance (EBSA). Many of the children we work with have experienced school-based trauma and need time to rebuild trust in adults and in themselves. Our setting offers a gentle, flexible alternative where emotional wellbeing, autonomy, and connection come first.

What We Offer

Our provision runs Monday to Friday, term time only, and includes:

  • Outdoor and Nature-Based Activities
Daily time in nature to support regulation, confidence, and connection.

  • Creative and Sensory Play
Hands-on experiences that support expression, calm, and joy.

  • Emotional and Social Support
A relationship-first approach where trust, consistency, and emotional safety come before anything else.

  • Practical Life Skills
Real-world tasks like gardening, cooking, and group projects that build independence, purpose, and collaboration.

Who Can Attend

Wildflower Meadows offers places for children aged 6 to 16. We accept referrals for:

  • Children who are on roll at school but struggling to attend — placements must be referred and funded by their school or local authority.

  • Children who are home educated and not currently on roll at any school — very limited places may be available in these cases. Please contact us directly to discuss eligibility.

Please note: We do not accept referrals for children under the age of 6, and we are not a registered school or provide any education.

How to Join

All placements require a completed referral form — either from a parent/carer (for home educated children only) or from a school or local authority (for children on roll or with EHCPs). This helps us understand your child’s needs and determine whether Wildflower Meadows is a suitable place.
