A Place Where Your Child Can Truly Thrive

We know how difficult it is to watch your child struggle in an environment that doesn’t feel right. Whether you're navigating anxiety, emotional-based school avoidance (EBSA), unmet needs, or simply searching for a place where your child can feel calm, safe, and understood — Wildflower Meadows is here for you.

We are an alternative provision, not a school. Wildflower Meadows is a place for children to decompress, recover from burnout or trauma, and begin to feel safe again. Our focus is on emotional safety, connection, and reducing anxiety—not academic outcomes. Through a nurturing, child-led approach, we offer a calm, supportive space where children can engage in meaningful, hands-on activities at their own pace and in their own way.

Where We Are

We are based in Burghfield Common, West Berkshire.

Our site is now open and welcoming children, following extensive work to create a safe, nurturing, and well-equipped environment. While the journey to opening wasn’t without its delays, we’re proud to now be supporting children on site.

We continue to accept and process new referrals and welcome visits from families, schools, and professionals. If you’d like to find out more or book a visit, please get in touch.

Who We Support

Wildflower Meadows is designed for children aged 6 to 16 who:

  • Are finding mainstream settings overwhelming or unsupportive

  • Experience anxiety, EBSA, trauma, or sensory processing difficulties

  • Require a therapeutic, nurturing environment to support emotional regulation, engagement, and personal growth

  • Benefit from small groups, consistent relationships, and a child-led approach to learning and development

What We Offer

Flexible sessions
We offer between one and three days per week (term-time only), tailored to each child’s needs and capacity.

Hands-on, child-led activities
Nature exploration, gardening, crafts, cooking, sensory play, practical life skills, group games, and more — all rooted in curiosity and relationship.

Therapeutic, trauma-informed support
No rewards, punishments, or pressure. Just safety, consistency, and compassionate guidance.

Support for families
We know how isolating the journey can feel. That’s why we offer connection, understanding, and a space to feel heard — not just for children, but for parents too.

Next Steps

Places are available for home educated children who are not currently on roll at any school. These spaces are extremely limited and considered on a case-by-case basis. If you meet this criteria and would like to explore a placement, please get in touch with us directly to discuss further.
